Belief informs Behavior. Father God, here we are to go into the depths of Christ from what we know into what we do not. Here, we are to have our eyes of understanding open to see and access our inheritance in Christ so that we can function in exactness and partner with You in advancing Your Kingdom here on earth as it is in heaven. We embrace new dimensions in Christ, to see You in Others as Others See You in our own lives.
Key Scripture John 1:12-13 Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried: he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
Today, we will examine the phrase “Believed in His Name.”
John 17:6 I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours, and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.
John 17:26 and I have made Your name known to them and will continue to make it known, so that the love with which You have loved Me may be in them [overwhelming their heart], and I [may be] in them.”
Genesis 1:26-27 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”27 So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.
We were created to resemble and represent God. The Hebrew word for “image” is **Tselem** refers to the shadow or outline of a figure, indicating a copy, reproduction, or duplicate. It denotes the visible form of an external object. The term for “likeness” in Hebrew is **demuth**. the Hebrew. Demuth means a copy, an imitation, resemblance, or similarity.
We are tracing what we believe in 2025. This beautiful scripture helps us understand clearly what “image” and “likeness” mean.
Ephesians 4:21-24 If in fact you have [really] heard Him and have been taught by Him, just as truth is in Jesus [revealed in His life and personified in Him], 22 that, regarding your previous way of life, you put off your old self [completely discard your former nature], which is being corrupted through deceitful desires, 23 and be continually renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh, untarnished mental and spiritual attitude], 24 and put on the new self [the regenerated and renewed nature], created in God’s image, [godlike] in the righteousness and holiness of the truth [living in a way that expresses to God your gratitude for your salvation].
Believing in His name means being restored to our original design to reflect His image and likeness. This name embodies His person, mentality, nature, and rank. This week, I found myself captivated by the concept of rank, which denotes one’s position or status. Believing in His name means accepting that His standing, position, and authority are ours through faith. We are asking God to grant us insight and access to the truth of what it means to be in Christ. The same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead dwells within us by faith.
When authoritarian leaders are in power, we can be certain that we have access to a force that surpasses the government and every other name—not just in this current season of 2025, but in the age to come as well. We see Elijah exemplifying this belief through faith when he called for fire, and fire came down. That is what it means to believe in His name.
Ephesians 1:18-21 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
In Revelation 22: 4 They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.
Your name is the highest. Your name is the greatest
Your name stands above them all!
All thrones and dominions All powers and positions
Your name stands above them all
