COMMUNITY – INTRODUCTION
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.
Psalm 119:130 NKJV-The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.
Psalm 119:130 TPT- Break open your word within me until revelation-light shines out! Those with open hearts are given insight into your plans.
Matthew 4:4 4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.’”
We submit to the Word that is going forth from the mouth of the Lord. We are here to be built by the LORD who has declared that He will build His church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. The Word of God, Scripture makes us mature and prepares us to fulfill any assignment God gives us. IDENTITY (building foundation for teaching) WORD – John 1:1-5 In the very beginning the Living Expression was already there. And the Living Expression was with God, yet fully God.[c]2 They were together—face-to-face, in the very beginning. 3 And through his creative inspiration this Living Expression made all things, for nothing has existence apart from him!4 Life came into being because of Him, for His life is light for all humanity. 5 And this Living Expression is the Light that bursts through gloom WORD become flesh- John 1:13-14 He was not born by the joining of human parents or from natural means, or by a man’s desire, but he was born of God. 14 And so the Living Expression became a man and lived among us! And we gazed upon the splendor of his glory, the glory of the One and Only who came from the Father overflowing with tender mercy and truth!
WHO ARE WE: 1 Peter 1:23 TPT - For through the eternal and living Word of God you have been born again. And this “seed” that he planted within you can never be destroyed but will live and grow inside of you forever. For: Our identity is in Christ. We are members of the household of God. Ephesians 2:19 - Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, God called Abraham – Genesis 1:1-3 NKJV Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Kingdom is about relationships with God and with one another. Community defined – our fellowship is with the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. 1 John 1:3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. In Genesis God in making man says, “Let us make man” US =we Community is a heart issue!!! Community = one heart, one mind one spirit- Acts 4:32 - All the believers were one in mind and heart. Selfishness was not a part of their community, for they shared everything they had with one another. 3 GREEK WORD KOINONIA=CLOSE TO WORD COMMUNITY- HAS TO DO WITH SHARING, PARTNERSHIP, COMMUNION, CONTRIBUTION, RELATIONSHIP LIKE MARRIAGE, INTERCOURSE!!!!
Ephesians 4:1-6 As a prisoner of the Lord,[a] I plead with you to walk holy, in a way that is suitable to your high rank, given to you in your divine calling. 2 With tender humility and quiet patience, always demonstrate gentleness and generous[b] love toward one another, especially toward those who may try your patience. 3 Be faithful to guard the sweet harmony of the Holy Spirit among you in the bonds of peace, 4 being one body and one spirit, as you were all called into the same glorious hope of divine destiny. 5 For the Lord God is one, and so are we, for we share in one faith, one baptism, and one Father. 6 And He is the perfect Father who leads us all, works through us all, and lives in us all!
PRINCIPLE OF LEADERSHIP – God uses man, 1 Chronicles 28:5- God appointed Solomon amongst David’s sons to sit on the throne, Titus in Crete to set order in the churches, we must begin to understand functions in the church community, when learning about the gifts of the Holy Spirit we saw they are one but performing different functions! It is God who appoints and anoints.
Psalm 1331-3 1 How truly wonderful and delightful to see brothers and sisters living together in sweet unity! 2 It’s as precious as the sacred scented oil flowing from the head of the high priest Aaron, dripping down upon his beard and running all the way down to the hem of his priestly robes. 3 This heavenly harmony can be compared to the dew dripping down from the skies upon Mount Hermon, refreshing the mountain slopes of Israel. For from this realm of sweet harmony God will release his eternal blessing, the promise of life forever!
LOVE =KEY INGREDIENT IN BUILDING COMMUNITY – Colossians 3:14-15 14 For love is supreme and must flow through each of these virtues. Love becomes the mark of true maturity. [ 15 Let your heart be always guided by the peace of the Anointed One, who called you to peace as part of his one body. And always be thankful.
John 13:34-34-35 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” Our constitution is love -this love is the love of God. IT IS NOT GOOD FOR MAN TO BE ALONE- Genesis 2:18 It is not good for the man to be alone, so I will create a companion for him, a perfectly suited partner. Apostle Najem taught us some time ago about bone of my bone, flesh of my flesh being beyond marriage- The household of God is a bone of my bone, flesh of my flesh community. In the Name of Jesus, I destroy the lie (individualism)that assumes one is walking with God on their own, when we are walking with God we walk with one another. That is the way it is. RELATIONSHIP with God and with others. When God gave Moses the ten commandments and the whole law it included stuff that had to do with an individuals relationship with God and with others in the community. When God delivered Israel from Egypt He delivered them as one man, our own redemption is so clear in the new testament- let me read it from
Romans 5:17 17 If one man’s sin brought a reign of death—that’s Adam’s legacy—how much more will those who receive grace in abundance and the gift of redeeming justice reign in life by means of one other man—Jesus the Anointed. ONE FOR MANY!!! God has not changed His principles. ALL HE DOES IN “US” Ephesians 5:25-27 TPT 25 And to the husbands, you are to demonstrate love for your wives with the same tender devotion that Christ demonstrated to us, his bride. For he died for us, sacrificing himself 26 to make us holy and pure, cleansing us through the showering of the pure water of the Word of God. 27 All that he does in us is designed to make us a mature church for his pleasure, until we become a source of praise to him—glorious and radiant, beautiful and holy, without fault or flaw. INDIVIDUALISM IS NOT GOD’S DESIGN!
PRAYER POINTS – a) That God will give us understanding. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Understanding! Understanding produces harmony! Ephesians 4: 18 NKJV the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what the hope of His calling is, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, Ephesians 4:18 TPT - 18 I pray that the light of God will illuminate the eyes of your imagination, flooding you with light, until you experience the full revelation of the hope of his calling—that is, the wealth of God’s glorious inheritances that he finds in us, his holy ones! b) That the wealth of God’s glorious inheritance will become a living reality in our midst. c) That the prayer of the Lord Jesus who dwells in us by faith will find expression here at CCF, a Holy Ghost birthed and preserved community of oneness and love undiluted, uncontaminated by the philosophies of men.
John 17:21-23 I pray for them all to be joined together as one even as you and I, Father, are joined together as one. I pray for them to become one with us[r] so that the world will recognize that you sent me. 22 For the very glory you have given to me I have given them so that they will be joined together as one and experience the same unity that we enjoy.[s] 23 You live fully in me and now I live fully in them so that they will experience perfect unity,[t] and the world will be convinced that you have sent me, for they will see that you love each one of them with the same passionate love that you have for me.
CHRIST- Isaiah 11:2 The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him-- the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the LORD.
