God Our Father II

Our reflections today seek to establish the truth about God as the Father of our Spirits. He is our Provider, Protector and Positioning. Today we are looking at some principles of engaging the Word of God even before advancing to reflecting on God our Father. (1) Meekness, and (2) Mixing the Word with faith.

To Contemplate is to look thoughtfully at…to direct our minds deliberately to the awareness of God. That’s what we are doing, by faith we are submitting our thoughts, emotions and decisions to God. We want to know Him, to please Him. Our Father gives us identity, purpose and function.

It is important to see the generosity of God – our Father in His commitment to directing our steps, He leaves nothing to chance. He is our beautiful God- our Father.

Psalms 32:8-9 TPT I hear the Lord saying, “I will stay close to you, instructing and guiding you along the pathway for your life. I will advise you along the way and lead you forth with my eyes as your guide. So don’t make it difficult; don’t be stubborn when I take you where you’ve not been before. Don’t make me tug you and pull you along. Just come with me!”

Isaiah 30:21 NIV Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” (LORD we want to hear Your Voice)

Meekness= James 1:21 KJV receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

Meekness = accept and submit without resistance to the will and desire of God. Jesus was obedient unto death. He was selfless. He died for me and You. He is the WORD.

Mirror = James (Jacob) 1:23-25 TPT If you listen to the Word and don’t live out the message you hear, you become like the person who looks in the mirror of the Word to discover the reflection of his face in the beginning. You perceive how God sees you in the mirror of the Word, but then you go out and forget your divine origin. But those who set their gaze deeply into the perfecting law of liberty are fascinated by and respond to the truth they hear and are strengthened by it—they experience God’s blessing in all that they do! [our pursuit is to be exactly like our Father]

2 Corinthians 3:18 AMPC And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.

The Incarnation celebrates the fact that the destiny of the Word was not the page but tangible human life. The word of truth preserves God’s original idea in the resonance of our hearts.

Mixing the Word with Faith – Hebrews 3:16-19 NKJV For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, led by Moses? [17] Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? [18] And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? [19] So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Hebrews 4:1-2 NKJV Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. [2] For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it

Serve =diakonéō (“to serve”) means caring for…

…and given us the ministry of reconciling others to God.

We want to move from religion/religious deception…

So forgiveness should be prompt not delayed…
